This, That and The Other

Tonight I have a few random things to yip about but nothing of great interest so be forewarned.

We re-filed for our i-600a today and Jacob had to fill out the forms as he is a citizen of this country unlike myself. Now Jacob remains calm under every circumstance known to man with the exception of something to do with Lily where she is hurt or sick, or as I learnt last time we filled this form out, filing forms with UCIS. So I joked with him to get it right and we started. Well wouldn't you know it by the 2nd line he had screwed it up so back to the printer for a new form. Off we go again and whammo, this time we made it to line number 5 before he screwed that form up too. At this point I decided to fill it out and just have him sign it. Well what do you know, the first q' was his name and I entered it backwards so it was back to the drawing board again. Yes we did finally get it but not before laughing uncontrollably at our incompetence. And to think, they allow us to adopt........odd, very odd!

We are not good parents to pets. Our tadpoles all died this week. We had special ceremonies for all of them and then flushed them down the loo with Lily having that honour after she said a little prayer. It was really cute. She thinks they have gone to be in fish heaven and that they will meet Nemo. We have one that turned into a frog and he is swimming around in his new digs very happily, or at least he was last time I checked.

Lily and I went bike riding tonight and she is doing really well and only occasionally falls off now. When she landed in a heap tonight she asked me to take her knee pad off and she immediately put it on backwards on her calf. I was somewhat perplexed until she explained that when she falls off the pedal whacks her in the calf and it hurts more than bashing her knee. Clever kid this one.

I have been accused most of my married life of living in Dawnland. It's a nice place to live as everyone is kind and sweet and nobody would ever take advantage of you or even think of being mean. My sisters hubby used to say that she lived in Sallyland so maybe it is a family trait. I live in the moment and sometimes I don't think things through as I am caught in the moment. For example I noticed the other day that our tile floor is looking a bit grim in the grout department and instead of being antique white grout it is starting to look like antique underwear. I was contemplating the best way to clean it and had this absolute brain wave. I would use the pressure cleaner. Yeah yeah smarty pants, I realize now that it was an atrocious idea but for that minute it seemed like the perfect solution. Thankfully Jakey was home and roared with laughter at my Einstein idea and then I came back to the real world. So I was wondering if anyone else suffers from their own world syndrome.. That isn't the worst thing I have ever done, the worst would be the time I spray painted Jakeys Harley Davidson by mistake. I will confess the tale as long as you guys share your stupid stories too.

Oh and one other little tiny thing. I have always known I have OCD tendancies but yesterday I got my hair cut and it now has loads of layers and it is making me bonkers. I used to be able to keep my hair perfectly straight with a blow dryer but now it has all these bits that misbehave and wave all over the place. My symmetrical, well behaved hair is no more and I can't deal with it. ARGHHHH, I need order on my head not bedlam.

Sleep Deprived......ackkkk

Lily has developed a new sleeping habit over the last few weeks and for the first time ever she is waking up at night to pee. Now you need to understand that she has her own bathroom off of her bedroom and is quite capable of peeing by herself but heaven forbid she go by herself in the middle of the night. So every night this little person appears at my side of the bed asking to go pee pee. I have been taking her straight back to her bed afterwards and she goes back to sleep but it is driving me batty! Last night Jacob came in from work at around 1.30 and as soon as he turned on the shower she appeared but afterwards she wasn't at all sleepy and finally went to sleep just after 3am. I was so awake by then that I just got up and was amazed at how much you can get done in a house when nobody is around however by 11.am when I had to go to work for my usual hour I was dragging.

She has not changed her routine, isn't getting anymore to drink and does not have a UTI so this evening I put a night light in her bathroom and left the door open into her bedroom and I told her that if she has to pee she has to go by herself! I know this is just a habit that she is getting into and nothing more but Lordy Lordy I need sleep.

After her bath tonight she was sitting in my lap all snuggled up in her towel and she looked up at me and said, I love you mummy. So I said thank you and I love you too. Then she said (and this is way to much information but it cracked me up) and I love your boobies. Again I said thank you. We are not done yet cos then she said, and your nobbles. Nobbles, what on earth are my nobbles, came my perplexed reply. You know, she said, your nobbles. I told her I didn't know what they were so she said, the little bits on your boobies, (I was fully clothed at this point). I laughed and corrected her but she told me I was wrong and that they aren't called nipples either they are called nibbles! At this point I nearly dropped her on the floor cos I was laughing so hard. Anatomy according to Lily! I probably wouldn't have laughed so much if I wasn't so flippin' tired.

Good night all....I'm hitting the hay!

Ahhhh, Saturdays

I went to bed last night so happy that today was Saturday and we had nothing important to do. I thought I might take Lily to the beach if the weather was favourable but I hadn't mentioned it to her cos I wanted to take things as they came.

This is how things happened.

Before 8.am Lily is already dressed as a princess and decides that she needs breakfast in her Princess pop-up house. I saw no harm in that and at that time of day I was not going to try to form sentences.

Then after brekky she needed to put on a spinning show, still at some ungodly hour

Few minutes later and tada.....change of clothes.

I really wanted to go to the Mall today because I suddenly decided we needed new towels, like NOW! So we shot up to Macys and I got towels and then I saw this for Lily and had to have it. Talk about Bling! She loves it. And it was in a huge sale and I saved $56 off the original price. Didn't pay even close to that for it.

Back home again for lunch and then I felt bad about spending the morning shopping so we grabbed our stuff and took off to the beach. Photos are below so if you are not happy about seeing beach photos cos you are living in the frozen Tundra, scroll down fast.

We didn't stay very long at the beach cos it was tooooooo cold! The sun was beautiful but the wind was chilly. So after a couple of hours we were done for and needed hot chocolate (just kidding). So we zoomed home and as I was cleaning up the beach stuff outside and cleaning up duck poop from the new residents Lily was being attacked by a mosquito and by the time I came back inside she had over a dozen bites. Thankfully I have some medicine that a friend gets for me in Hong Kong so they instantly shrunk to a normal size and stopped itching her. After a quick game of find the Mossy we had dinner and a shower and she is now fast asleep and getting ready for another crazy day tomorrow.

Here are the new residents. These were taken yesterday when Schnoog came home from school.

And last but by no means least here is our Red Thread saying now that it has been framed. I love it. Thank you so much Jeanne.

It All Started So Innocently

Our VCR went on the fritz which was no big deal since they are obsolete anyway. Jacob decided to just get another one with a DVD recorder in it and be done. So off he went on his little shopping trip and thought he was all done. Not so, sonny!

I had much bigger plans. Since he had to move the wall unit out about 6 inches I thought we should just go ahead and change all the furniture around, buy new area rugs, clean out 3 closets, make 2 trips to the charity drop off site and bake a heart shape cake! The poor guy, me thinks he wishes he had never woken up today.

He did get even at the second rug shop though. They had just received a new shipment and they were still rolled up and we were trying to look at them very carefully and gingerly since they were all on a table. He pulled one out length ways and we put it on top and unrolled it a little bit and decided we didn't like it after all so then I saw another one further down in the heap and as I moved back they all started to roll so I had to stand with my body holding them on the table and so dearest hubby looked at my panicked expression and took off. Another lady saw what was happening and started to laugh so Jacob just went over to her and denied knowing me. He did come back to rescue me but not before I was laughing uncontrollably. The damn rugs were huge and weighed a tonne. But we checked them off the to do list and came home and carried on with the rest of the day. The rug looks even better in here than it did in the shop.

I think then Jacob thought he was done but I knew better. We were on a roll or at least I was and he was being dragged, kicking and screaming along for the fun. So we headed upstairs to the bedroom....it's not what you think, so get your mind out of the gutter! We then went through the walk in closets. He asked me what we were doing and I told him we were taking EVERYTHING out of all the closets. He knows better than to question anything when I get like this so he just went for it and we dumped the walk-ins. I say, stay or go and he replies and off we go and it is done! I don't do clutter so every few months I have one of these fits and then I am OK for a while longer. Jacob likes to keep things and I am fine with him doing this but certain things have to go and today was B-bye day.

Frankly we were interested to find out what the Schnoog would have to say about the changes since last time she came home and we had done something different she announced that we were wrecking the house! Everything passed her inspection, lucky for her really cos it would have been tough otherwise! Opinionated little madam.

Well, I can breathe again now...the air is uncluttered!
I'm tired. Good night.

Weirdness Challenge

Connie had offered us fellow bloggers a challenge to post photos of weird stuff that we have in our houses. You can see her original post and her weirdness on her blog at
http://jadynjourney.blogspot.com/

I have plenty of weirdness in this house, heck some of it is alive and kicking but alas that is for another day. So here is my contribution to to the challenge with a little explanation.

Exhibit A:

This bird is just plain weird and who in their right mind would want something so fugly in their house? That would be my husband! Nasty isn't it.

Exhibit B:

What the HECK is this? If anybody has a clue please let us know as we have no idea what it is. It appears, to be made of ivory but we are not certain. It is bound at either end in leather and is quite big. Why do we have it? Again, ask the hubby. We inherited a few years ago and he thinks it is great even though he has no clue what it is. (Hubby just pointed out that we are not talking about the yardstick!)

That folks is enough of the freaky crap in my house for one day. Now please don't go and write any letters to the CCAA.

Odds and Ends

I am happy to report that the Froglets are still alive and kicking. I made a frantic phonecall to the help line this morning after I completed the reading material that came with them and found out that you are only supposed to house one, yes one, tadpole in the ecosphere and we have four. Come to find out we have the froglet digs so they will be just fine where they are and won't need to be upgraded to the fancy mansion however hubby and child have already picked out the next mansion so they will apparently be upgrading after all! They live a long and prosperous life.... oh darn it, if well cared for. Now I am wishing we had sprung for a puppy years ago. As for their names: Lily has named them after her friends at school. They are, Nico, Samantha, Natalie and last but not least, Froglet. She had named one after her but she changed it to froglet when it sprouted its funky little swimmy legs. She thinks these things are wonderful and who am I to dissuade her even though they make my skin crawl. When they morph into froglets I may have to move out cos the thought of froglets swimming around and "clapping their hands" (it says that in the book) is just plain nasty.

Note to Panda Cam Addict: Thanks for all of your comments. I cannot reply as your comments are not returnable. If you have a blog email me, the address is in my profile, and I would love to visit you.

And finally, I was tagged the other day by LaDyfrog and I have been delinquent in my duties so here is my meme. I think it that is what it is called. Actually I thought meme was another name for a childs pacifier but live and learn.

These are the instructions:
1) Find the nearest book (please try to keep it PG rated)
2) Open to page 123
3) Type lines 6-8 of said book
4) Tag three others

Mitch Albom. The Five People You Meet In Heaven

My children went there and their children and theirs. But not me. My idea of heaven was as far from the ocean as possible, back in that busy diner when my days were simple.

Tag 3 others.....well if you want to play along consider yourself tagged.
I confess to taking this off of the bookcase with my eyes closed since the closest book to me was a check book! Next one was the froglet book and it doesnt have enough pages. My reading material is next to my bed so that is not even remotely close to here.

Ok. Me thinks Me all caught up so good night!

Something To Pass The Time

Since the rumours are flying that tomorrow is going to be referrral day and we are all waiting with baited breathe to see how many days the CCAA is going to release this month I have decided to pass the day with some silliness. I found this on LaDyfrogs blog and have borrowed it, she borrowed from someone else but we have all washed our hands so its OK. I have 23 people in this country with the same name as me but if I enter my maiden name the computer can be heard roaring with laughter and then tells me that I am all alone. No wonder I ditched it in a hurry when I married Jakey!
