Good People = Good Fun

Last night we went over to Lori and Marc's house for a fabulous evening of silliness and fun. It was like a mini blogger bash as we all blog. We finally got to meet Vivian, Cory and Kerri. I started to follow their blog shortly after they moved to Canada. I had no idea they used to live here until a few months later. Vivian and I swore that the next time they came down this way we would meet and we did last night. It was so strange to finally meet someone that you know so much about, someone who looks so familiar to you, yet you have never laid eyes on before. They are the nicest people, and Kerri can steal your heart in an instant, she is just gorgeous. She even gave me a hug bye bye.

We had a really super evening, Tammie bought, what has to be, the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten in my life. The kidlets played merrily with another of Lori's friends. They literally climbed all over him for hours and he kept going back for more. The time flew by and that was a shame.

The Dynamic Duo are so very kind and sweet and were more than happy to share their toys with the rest of the gang. Katie Starr is such a tiny little peanut and so girly and her brother Ethan has the cutest voice I have ever heard. Lily loves Katie and was very excited to see her. Rosie spent most of the night pointing to the dog and saying over and over again, "doddy". Erin is also very tiny so Lily ended up being the giant of Kidetland, which is saying something. The kidlets were moving a lightening speed which made taking photos utterly impossible.

These pictures should probably come with a disclaimer stating that I cannot be held responsible for their content due to the consumption of too many alcoholic beverages but alas that isn't true cos the hardest bevvy consumed by any of us was coke! This is just us, us having fun.

This needs no explanation. Kids. Toys. Fun!

A think he liked the cake too. (If you can see a really, really tiny posterior in this photo, to the right of Jacob, you are required, by law, to state how very tiny it is. Otherwise the owner of said posterior will call me the "B" word for posting it!

Honestly, we are all sober!

Rosie felt right at home. She actually gave Tammie a hug, and a real one not just a limp rag one and then she decided to sit next to Vivian. This is not like her but she knows good peeps when she meets them.

Lily fell asleep in the car on the way home and didn't even stir when we carried her into the house, this is a first. Rosie, well she didn't fall asleep on the way home but she was asleep within seconds of hitting her crib.

Lori, thank you so much. We are sending Big Al good vibes and Marc lots of love. What a lovely evening...sigh.

So Big

When did she get so big?
She is so sweet and so caring and so pure.
She takes my breath away.

Merry Times.

The last few days have gone by in a flurry of activity and excitement. The girls had a really wonderful time as did the so called, grown ups. I have so many photos that this will be a photo post with a little wordage thrown in to set the scene.

A random shot that I just love.

Christmas morning. Not quite sure at what point Rosie decided to remove her jammies but she did and her diaper. I just remember it was early, very, very early.

The diaper has been reinstated and Rose is now singing the alphabet.

Again, very early in the morning, outside in the rain. Our deck is wrecked cos we have the house painter here painting the exterior. They were filthy when they came back in. But who cares, it's Christmas and they had fun.

Rosie attacks a turkey leg. I failed to take photos of the table when it was set for dinner. It looked so lovely.

Riding a polar bear at the north pole. One of my gifts from Jacob was a new camera. We had to replace my favourite one a couple of months ago and I don't like the new one at all. I was really surprised to see a new version of my old favourite under the tree. I love it. It's the Casio Exilim 8.1. This new one is even tinier than before and so much easier and the other one was a breeze.

Little Miss Smiley Face. She is grinning from ear to ear because she is now in a booster chair and not a high chair and she is very, very proud of herself.

On Christmas Eve, Jacob took Lily to see some lights and a local news crew was there and they interviewed Lily and she was on the news. (and to think, she wasn't excited enough just because it was Christmas Eve!)

Rosie still has gifts left to open. She gave up sometime on Christmas morning and hasn't looked back at them. Lily opened all of hers and then organised them and she is now working her way through everything.

Hanging 4 stockings instead of 3 has really made a difference. Life is so good and we are so very lucky.

Rosie Is A Boy.

I am not sure how this all started but a few weeks ago Jacob asked Rosie if she was a girl or a boy and she said she was a boy so Jacob just ran with it. Now Rosie and Lily do this oddball dance where they just chant, "boy, boy, boy," over and over again. It is really funny. Don't panic she knows that she is a girl and can differentiate between the sexes.

The little bitty fingers at the end of the video are Rosies. She was trying to see herself on film.

It Wasn't Meant To Be Funny

Yesterday we attended our dear friend Jakie's daughter's Bat Mitzvah. Since I knew there was no way that Rosie would be able to sit still in the temple for 3 hours I went on time with Lily and Jacob showed up and hour or so later with Rose.

Since Jakie has no family in this country and they were unable to make it here for the occasion she requested that our family sat in the front row with her. We were honoured to do so but also a little worried as that would put Rosie right in the eyes of the Rabbi and Cantor. I was called to the Bimah to read "the Prayer For Peace" and realised seconds before hand that I had forgotten my glasses so as I walked past Jakie I literally snagged hers right off of her face. I thought I had been discreet but the Cantor laughed.

Shortly after that Rosie arrived with Jacob and she wanted her own seat so we sat her in one but it just folded back up with her in it. She didn't care but it was making everyone laugh. She was being quiet but it was very hard not to laugh at the little person folded away in her seat. It was a wonderful service and Lucy decided that she didn't want a large party that evening to celebrate the event but instead wanted to go to Israel. This shows just the kind of sweet child that she is. Tomorrow her family will leave for a 10 day trip to Israel.

Jakie had a luncheon at her house and we all had a wonderful time and I cannot wait to see the photos. In the meantime here are some really poor ones that I took;

Is it just me that sees something a little off with this picture??? Or perhaps I should say, a little "out" with this picture.
