Tonight she will look like???..... I have no idea what she will look like but it may well involve a feather boa and a blonde wig!
So stop by again later to see who she morphs into for tonights event.

As we drove to school this morning we were greeted by this. What a wonderful way to start a morning. Mother Nature is incredible. It isn't the best photo as I was driving at the time....ssshhhh.

Utterly Revolting

I have never ever carved a pumpkin and now I know why. It is utterly revolting to the touch and it smells putrid. Jacob has always done it with Lily and I have never heard him complain about it but he would walk through fire for his little girl.

When we went to the pumpkin patch a week ago we bought pumpkins to carve and they have been sitting around looking fine and dandy and we forgot about them. Jacob realised yesterday that they needed to be carved and had planned on doing it with Lily yesterday when she came home from school however she came home really tired and cranky so it never happened. So, this evening I took it upon myself to carve it with her. EWWWWWWW, yuck.

She drew the design that she wanted and then we carved it together. As soon as we took the top off we knew it was going to be a yucky job. I, of course, decided I needed to film her putting her hand in for the first time.

Lily Takes Over The Video

Photo Sharing - Video Sharing - Share Photos - Free Video Hosting

As soon as it was dark I took Lily and Jack 'O' Grossness outside so that we could light him. I took a few photos but found out quickly that the flash on the camera is so good that it looks like the middle of the day

So then I fiddled around with the camera and managed to find the special effects....much better.

When I Don't Blog Everyday

.......I have so much to share. This should proably be in bullet form cause it will be jumping all over the place.

I know I have said this before but I am going to say it over and over again, I love this time of year. If it would just get cooler I would be delirious. Everything is so much more pleasant when the sky is greyish and the temps are not in the 90's every single day. Sure they still hit that ugly number but not quite as frequently. Lily had a school trip last week and I was a chaperone and after we went to the theatre (to see the most BORING play of all time) we, we would be all 500 of them, stopped at a park and had a picnic. They didn't number even close to that it just sounded like that many. When we got home I felt as if the school bus had run me over, twice. Anyway the weather was so nice and it was just so lovely to be outdoors. The kids were running around and being kids and didn't end up thoroughly drenched in sweat.

Today was Kids Health Day at a local hospital. The children were able to dress up in costumes and off they went trick or treating and learning about healthy eating, exercising, allergies, dental care etc etc. There were prizes for this and that and contests, face painting and a mock E.R. where you could take your dolly's to have them "mended". Lily took Bunny cos he is getting a tad threadbare in his ears. In no time at all a team of specialists had him all better. He had to have an admission bracelet and we had to fill out forms on him. It was so cute. She stood by as he was stitched up. I am amazed that she let them do it. They even gave him a bit more stuffing. Half way through the procedure I was asked if I minded them taking photos of her and if it was fine would I sign all the release forms so that they can use them in the magasines, since I agreed to it I was distracted for a bit but when I turned my attention back to Lily she was still standing in the same spot with her eyes glued on the Bun. Instead of handing out the usual junk to the kids they had huge coolers of fresh fruit and water that you could help yourself too. I thought that that was a really smart move.

We waited for 40 minutes for the obligatory face painting.

The tired mermaid needed help making it back to the car. I think this is a great shot.

I have been exercising 6 days a week for the last month and already I am reaping the rewards of it. The first few days were bloody murder but once I got into the swing of things I started loving it again. There is just one small, and I mean pathetically small, problem, I've lost my boobies. I put on a top this morning and checked the mirror casually and nearly broke my neck as I swung back around because I could see something was amiss. My top didn't look right and that is when I realised what had happened. They didn't even stop to say Au Revoir they just flew the coop. So if you happen to see my ta ta's somewhere please send them home, I miss them. Not that they were ever very impressive but at least they were there. I did get the OK from the hubby to go out and buy some new ones. At the rate the CCAA is moving I can get them done and be feeling fine and looking fabulous long before they call my name. I have wanted to do this for a really long time but now it has become a neccessity because soon people will be calling me Mister. I have been watching Dr 90210 religously and I think I am ready but the part when they cut off the nippies to put the implant in makes me shudder so I think I shall have to go a different route.

I warned you this post would bounce about...it is the only thing in this house that does bounce anymore . Damn, I crack me up.

On a serious note there are only two and a half more hours before Three and A Highchair become, 4 and 2 highchairs. Katie Starr will meet her little brother Ethan for the first time and we are so excited for them.

And finally, thanks to Steffie B I have just realised that yesterday was our 20 month Lidversary. Now I know that the end is in sight. Life is good, very good.

Go Lily, Go.

This post is nothing more than me gushing and bragging about our girl. Over the last month or so Lily has been reading more and more words and reading the occasional sign when we are out. She has always loved books and we have read to her from day one. After her bath tonight I asked her to choose a story and she picked out, Go Dog, Go. As we walked upstairs to bed I realised that she could probably read a lot of it herself so I asked her if she wanted to read it to me instead of me reading to her. She wanted to, so we snuggled down in our bed and off she went. She read the whole book. I had to help her sound out a few words and she was getting rather weary and frustrated towards the end but she would not give up.

Our girl can read. This is huge I am so proud of her and she is so very proud of herself. As soon as she was done we called Daddy to tell him and she shrieked into the phone. I am surprised that she didn't burst his eardrum. When I kissed her goodnight she had the proudest smile on her face and it resembles the sh*t eating grin that I am sporting right now.

She is getting so big and learning to read is huge as it opens up so many opportunities for her. Now there will be no holding her back because she is running with all this new found knowledge.

Wow, our little girl is reading. That means she is growing up fast. Ahem, CCAA did you hear me, my little baby is getting big could you please send her little sister this way ASAP cos I am not ready to have big girls only in this home. Thank you.

Halloweenie Fun

This past Sunday was the the FCC monthly gathering and in honour of October it has a Halloween theme......imagine that! Our dear friends Marc and Lori invited us to join them and Katie Starr for an afternoon of spooktacular fun. The kiddiewinkles all dressed up and a great time was had by all. We met some new families with some of the cutest babies EVER and reconnected with folks we haven't seen for ages. Lily chose to dress up as a bride??? Yepper, I said bride and I mean cute bride and not bride of Frankenstein. She looked really sweet and had a lovely time. Of course the highlight of her day was the trick or treating.

Lori, Marc, Katie Starr and Lori's' mum leave in 2 days to head back to China to bring baby brother Ethan home. I am not sure how she found the time to pull that luncheon off and look so calm. She takes everything in her stride with such ease. Bwahhahahah...wait till it is my turn, grace and decorum will be out the window.

Miss Lil' scouting out the loot.

Katie Starr blowing bubbles. This was the funniest thing since the only thing that would happen when she blew was her bangs shot up in the air. I could have watched that for hours but my mum taught me that it is rude to stare!
