I'm Under A Gag Order.

I have to take a tiny weiny little break from the blog. It won't be for long but we have some stuff going on that I must deal with. It is all good but I can't get into here, at least not for the time being. Since I am notorious for opening my mouth and blabbing it will be lots better if I walk away for a bit instead of accidentally telling the whole damn world.

Once I am back I will spill the beans. Dear lord how do people keep secrets???? I could never be a spy, I would suck.

I'm Late, I'm Late For A Very Important Date.

I was sitting here minding my own business and catching up with all the happenings of Bloggyville when I perused the 3d's blog and suddenly realised that yesterday was our 21 month LIDversary and I hadn't noticed either, DUH. Is anybody still counting anymore? The months just float by almost unnoticed but we know in the end we will win the prize, the Grand Prize.

My cousin left yesterday. We are sad. Lily is quite miserable and first thing this morning she carefully opened Andie's bedroom door and peeked in. I asked her what she was looking for and she told me that she was just checking to see if she had come back cos she misses her so much. All day yesterday her little voice kept saying, I don't want Andie to leave. It was sad. I don't like my little girl to be sad but she will be fine shortly.

We're Back, and you didn't know we were gone.

Shortly after the Thanksgiving turkey had been digested we leapt into the car and headed for Naples. Jacob was working so we 3 girlies took off for the west coast. It goes without saying that we had a wonderful time cos we always do and it doesn't matter what we are doing.

Andie has pretty much travelled the world. It is what she loves to do but she had never been to Naples so it was all new to her. Just as we do, she loved it.

We went to the beach and buried the child.

Okay, there is a duck on the beach??????? This is not normal.

After dinner in a swanky little restaurant we headed downtown and much to Lily's great delight it was snowing. (not real snow but great fun anyway.)

And as if that wasn't enough excitement for one night we then went for a horse drawn carriage ride....in the snow.

I have some really great photos but dropshots isn't accepting "drops"...it is so fickle of late.

Family Fun

On Saturday my cousin Andie arrived from England. Lily truly believes that Andie was put on this earth for her entertainment. She loves her so much and Andie is wonderful with Lily. So my house is even more nutty than usual at the moment and the excitement level could be measured on the Richter scale.

Sunday we all went to our F.C.C. groups national adoption day picnic. I was having so much fun that I only managed to take the camera out of my purse at the end. Seeing all these girls and boys together, enjoying all the things that kids enjoy is so very touching. It is becoming like and extension of our family as we have been members now for so long and all the families are such lovely people but you already know that as the adoption community is filled with kind and generous loving people. We have 2 families that have their referrals which helps to boost us all along.

We are now the proud owners of the Eleanor Hoh Wok Set so expect some hilarious video footage to appear soon. Eleanor came to the picnic and demonstrated her really easy cooking methods to us all. How easy they will be with me at the helm remains to be seen.

We were also mentioned again in one of the local papers and here is the link. It is such a touching collage and it was done by one of the mums.

One Of Those Days. Rant.

Phew, is it bedtime yet?

I have just had one of those days. You know the kind, the ones that make you think that a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 is a good idea.

(no I haven't ever had it but I have seen enough bottles of it in my time, all partially hidden in brown paper bags and discarded at the side of the road, to know it must be good for something)

Happy place, oh happy place, oh where did I put my happy place?

Thanks To You and You and You and You

We now have the perfect photo of Lily. The bikini clad, flabby bummed, mystery lady is no more and it is all thanks to Stephe, K1, Anne and Cindy. For those of you that took the trouble to fix it for us we really appreciate it.

Such wonderful bloggy pals who always step up to the plate.

So here she is, all fixed up.

And here she is with bikini woman.

Note to Bikini Woman: If by some strange twist of fate you actually read this blog, your arse isn't really that bad it just needed to disappear from my photo.

Need Techy Help Please.

Today when we were out I took this photo and we love it however we do not want the bikini clad stranger who is in the background. I cannot crop the photo cos I will lose some of Lily's dress so does anyone have any suggestions.

If I use the basic Phot.o Shop programme will I be able to make her disappear or am I just stuck with a great photo of Lily and bikini lady?

I love this one too but not as much. Go figure since bikini girl didn't appear in this one too.

More Phun

Little Miss Lily had yet another fun filled day at Jacob's company picnic. She, as always, wanted to do everything and participated in all the kids games.

About 10 minutes before we arrived home she zonked out in the car and didn't even wake up when I carried her in the house. This is really unusual as Lily has not taken naps for over 2 years. I had to get her undressed as her clothes were soaked due to the water games and she mumbled something and promptly went back to sleep. After an hour I really started to "wake her up" but she still wanted no part of it. I was actually starting to worry that at some point she must have banged her head cos it is so out of character for her. She finally got up long enough for a bath and dinner but it is now nearly 7am and she is still sleeping.

Her favourite thing was all the games. In one of them they passed a plate of whipped cream around and if you were holding it when the music stopped it was smushed in your face! This one is for Michelle who says Lily is always smiling. She usually is but not this time!

A Visit To The Eye Doctor

Lily had an appointment today to see the eye doctor. Before we went I explained everything and she was really looking forward to it. So all went well and she did everything she was meant to do and her vision is 20/20 and we are so thankful for that. Her eyes were dilated which freaked her out a little bit because in her words "I started to disappear". After I explained to her again that it was just the drops she thought it was okay. Following another exam of the inside of her eye we found out that they are not only seeing beautifully but that they are perfectly healthy as well. As we were leaving the office one of the ladies at the front desk gave her a pair of the rolled up, roll around sunglasses. She thought they were brilliant and has basically worn them ever since.

See.

This is just one of the many reasons why we call her Silly Lily.

Yee - Haw

Sunday found us at a country fair. It was a little hill billy-ish but loads of fun. We even got to go on a hayride but the driver forgot his Geritol and we inched along even though we were all yelling, George, speed it up. He did for all of 3 seconds and then went back to his napping pace. We met up with some friends and the kiddos had a wild time decorating cookies, participating in fishing tournaments, jumping in the bounce house and on and on it went. Good food, good friends, and happy kids.....it doesn't get better than that.

Lily had a private fishing lesson yesterday from a chap we named Mr. Tex cos he kept making fun of my accent even though I don't technically have an accent you people do. Anyway Mr. Tex had a really whacky accent but he was so much fun and even though Lily didn't win the fishing tournament he gave a fishing rod for all of her hard work. So Grandpa, we are set can you come over and take over the fishing duties cos you know there is no way in hell I am touching anything that is supposed to dangle off of the end of it. Many thanks your grateful daughter.

Plus the clocks changed yesterday and I love it. I love the darkness early in the evening, yes I know I stand pretty much alone on this one but to me it signifies cooler temps, and fun things around the corner. Last night we booked tickets for a trip to Boston in Feb just so that we can get chilly and hopefully Lily will get to play in some snow again. I can't wait.

R.O.F.L.M.A.O

Today Lily came home from school with a picture for us. It is a picture if Jacob and I. When I saw it I cracked up laughing, I really didn't mean to but it is just hilarious. Apparently dear husband needs to use more sunscreen cos Lily has a different opinion of him than most.
She realised a little while ago that we are both naked and she wanted to finish it but I took this photo before she had a chance to dress us as that would take away from hubby's suntan!

Take a look for yourselves.
