Yee - Haw

Sunday found us at a country fair. It was a little hill billy-ish but loads of fun. We even got to go on a hayride but the driver forgot his Geritol and we inched along even though we were all yelling, George, speed it up. He did for all of 3 seconds and then went back to his napping pace. We met up with some friends and the kiddos had a wild time decorating cookies, participating in fishing tournaments, jumping in the bounce house and on and on it went. Good food, good friends, and happy kids.....it doesn't get better than that.

Lily had a private fishing lesson yesterday from a chap we named Mr. Tex cos he kept making fun of my accent even though I don't technically have an accent you people do. Anyway Mr. Tex had a really whacky accent but he was so much fun and even though Lily didn't win the fishing tournament he gave a fishing rod for all of her hard work. So Grandpa, we are set can you come over and take over the fishing duties cos you know there is no way in hell I am touching anything that is supposed to dangle off of the end of it. Many thanks your grateful daughter.

Plus the clocks changed yesterday and I love it. I love the darkness early in the evening, yes I know I stand pretty much alone on this one but to me it signifies cooler temps, and fun things around the corner. Last night we booked tickets for a trip to Boston in Feb just so that we can get chilly and hopefully Lily will get to play in some snow again. I can't wait.
