Happy 4th

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful daddy in the world, mine.

We chose to stay here and celebrate America's birthday this year instead of heading to England and spending the day with my Father to celebrate his. Rosie asked a few months ago what fireworks are so we thought it was high time she find out.
She spent most of the day asking when the fireworks were going to happen and we spent the whole day telling her when it gets dark. We didn't think she would like them. at. all. not. one. bit. HA, she loved 'em. She did say that they were loud but she loved them. I have to start giving this kid a bit more credit.

We headed to a new venue for the fireworks this evening and were not really sure what to expect. We had only been there for a few minutes when we bumped into Lily's best friend from school and her family. As we followed them to where they were sitting we were approached by a family with a daughter from China who we invited to join us. Our little family of four was suddenly about 20 people and growing fast. it was fabulous. Both of Lily's BFF"s from school and all their family members were there, Rosie had her new friend, Emily and Jacob and I had lots of adults to mingle with. We bought some Sparkles and Pop-Pops for the girls so we spread them around as best we could and the kids were in heaven. We shared snacks and drinks and just let them have fun. Once it was dark the fireworks started and Rosie found a prime location on Jacob's shoulders and loved every second of it.
They fell asleep tonight within seconds of hitting the sheets even though the fireworks in the neighbourhood make it sound like a combat zone. What are the ones that literally sound like bombs and shake your house? Sheesh. The girls are sleeping though them.

2 very patriotic girlies all ready to go.
Lily and Sana
Sand art...pretty cool
Rosie and her new friend. They are both from the same province and are so similar it made us laugh.
Preferred seating for the fireworks
