A Visit With Thanta Clauth

Last year Rosie called Santa, the Ho Ho Man cos she couldn't say Santa, this year she calls him by his correct name but with a lisp it sounds more like Thanta Clauth.

Yesterday after lunch I told the girls to go and get dressed because we were going to visit Santa. I also told them (what on earth was I thinking) that they could wear whatever they like. With this in mind they shot up the stairs as fast as their legs would carry them and flew into their closets. Lily LOVES to get dressed up and has some truly amazing dresses, many of which are perfect for black tie events. I cautioned her, as she disappeared from view, that this was not a fancy English banquet but indeed a visit with the Ho Ho Man. She sounded a little deflated but carried on about her business.

I assumed Rosie would pick her favourite shorts and a t-shirt cos this girl couldn't care less about looking fancy schmancy. I was almost right with Rosie she picked capri's and a matching shirt and then adorned herself in globs of jewelry and her final decision was shoes. I assumed Cr*cs since she loves them and with her freaky skinny feet she doesn't have many choices but she appeared wearing a pair of dressy black shoes that she wore one time for pictures.

Lily, on the other hand, appeared wearing a black bejeweled dress, fit for a night time party, patent leather sling backs, (also required for photos one time) her hair in some peculiar "on the side" ponytail and jewelry. She then disappeared and came back sporting a little hint of lip gloss. She was strutting around like a peacock. I love seeing them when they make all their own choices. It never fails Lily's is always over the top and Rosie's is really casual.

We approached Santa and Rosie announced she didn't like him. Not a big surprise. I explained that she just needed to sit on his lap for a second and have a photo taken and then politely tell him what she wanted for Christmas. The child latched on to my hand for dear life and dug her heels into some invisible adhesive and wouldn't budge. After a couple of minutes I was able to tell the very impatient photographer, we were ready. There wasn't even a queue so I can't imagine what the hurry was.

As soon as the camera flashed Rosie was off of his lap like a rocket but not before telling him he could bring her anything but nothing scary! He was scary enough. LOL

Lily said he was really nice and stayed and chatted for a minute.

We then headed off to the carousel and the girls had a little fun.

Lily, forgetting she was dressed like a lady and spinning out of control
My very own little poser!

If this post is filled with mistakes please excuse them and I will correct it later. I wrote it at warped speed before flying out the door to go to work.

Love the outfits......they definitely show their unique personalities! LiLi is the same way...thinks Santa is very scary! But she did sit in his lap & smile!
