A Day At The Beach

I have never really been a beach goer. I don't care for hot weather so going to the beach to fry isn't really what I would define as fun. Let me say, I wasn't a beach goer until Lily entered my life but there is something about seeing her enjoying every second of the beach that makes it fun for me too. I actually quite like it now.

This morning we had to get up early as Jacob had to be at the airport at some ungodly hour so I decided to take both girlies to the beach. It didn't enter my head that Rose might not like the sand. If anything I thought she would eat the stuff.

How sad is this face?

Things only got worse. She tumbled over backwards and landed on SAND!

Lily loves the sand

I WILL NOT leave this towel.

Since things were not going ever so well I decided to take her down to the waters edge to see if that would change her opinion of the beach. At this point I had nothing to lose.

Oh Yes, success. Now she loves the beach.

After this I took a bucket full of water up on the sand and she gladly traipsed through sand to play with it.

Lily is getting so big and so beautiful. I know as her mother I am not supposed to brag publicly but this is my blog so I'll brag if I want too!

We stayed a couple of hours and came home and out of nowhere Rosie started making this face. It just makes me laugh out loud.

When we were in China we were all making fish lips which for some odd reason Andie kept calling "duckface". I think this face makes her look like a duck so Andie this one is for you!

Funny! I know I had no love for beach vacations until I learned how to keep sand out of my suit and sunscreen on my skin.

Oh this post was just oozing cuteness!
Loved the pictures at the beach...I'm so glad Rose decided that sand is indeed a good thing.
And, you are allowed to brag on your daughters - especially when they are SO stinkin' gorgeous. It is crazy how big Lily is getting. Wow.

And the "duckface" cracked me up!!!

Oh my gosh that tongue cracked me up!! What a ham...

Glad she finally got her hands and feet dirty and had a great time at the beach. I'm like you, I like the beach on a cold day- walking fully clothed and listening to the waves. I hate the heat!

Lily is beautiful as always :) But wow, she has grown up, hasn't she?

Love the pics & video clips! I absolutely dislike spending time at the beach. I'm one who prefers the pool with chaise lounges & towels & nice cool beverages.

Rosie & her antics were so sweet! Lily looks so grown up!

How is it you hate hot weather and you live in south Florida chica? You sound a lot like me. I love fall and spring with cooler temps and blue skys but I don't care much for the heat and humidity of summer.

those pictures of the girls are so precious. I love the tongue rolling. I'm sure you know that is a genetic trait. Not everyone can do that. Miss Rosie is a special gal indeed :0)

Looks like you had a fun day. Rosie can roll her tongue. I can't. DH and DS can. I didn't get that gene from my mom. I took after my dad. He can't roll his tongue either.

Keep posting pictures of those adorable little girls.
