Lets Go Fly A Kite

Okay then, now that you are all singing that little song from Mary Poppins I will ignore you and chit chat about our day!

This afternoon we went off to the beach and took our kites with us. At Haulover Beach, they have a kite festival every so often and today was one of those days. (They also have a nudist beach but that is fodder for another day!)It was a perfect day for kite flying and we had a really lovely afternoon. The only thing missing was my brother who always flew kites with my neice and nephew and any other kiddies who were interested. Once we were thoroughly baked from laying in the sun and staring directly at it we headed across the street to the beach. (no not the nude one)

The water was too cold for wimpy me so I stayed on camera duty whilst Jacob entertained the Schnoog in the sea. She has finally reached an age and size where the big waves don't bother her and she really loved it.

On the way home we stopped at the store to pick up some things for a BBQ and I swear the lady on the register could have worked for the CCAA she was so slow. Jacob always picks up the bags and carries them if we are together so I paid the lady (read snail) and then we left. As we were walking to the car I was muttering about the snail when suddenly a bag boy appears and says, "You left all your groceries behind!" Yepper, we sure did! How stupid can we be. Jacob says it was my fault since he did have Lily in his arms. I pointed out that he didn't notice I didn't have them. I was just so glad to be free of the snail that I didn't stop to pick up the stuff I just hightailed it out of there. Oh, you'd have thought the bag boy would have brought them out to us but, NO that would have been to clever. So I ran back into the store and grabbed said items and we left in absolute fits of hysterics......even Lily thought it was pathetic that I forgot to pick them up.

Anyway it's just life in Dawnland. Enjoy the photos.

Hey, I've left my groceries behind...more than once. I have no excuse either because I go to the grocery alone ;)

I knew there had to be a reason for living in an area which is prone to hurricanes, it makes kite-flying easier!

She's such an adventerous child..I know I didnt spell that right...anyhow..the water has to be freezing right now. But she looks like she's having fun.

I've done the same thing and actually left stuff on the cart in the parking lot. Needless to say I never got that stuff back.
