There is just nothing like receiving "the call". Rosie's referral call wasn't an ordinary one. I had called our agency AGAIN, to plead our case. To tell them we were her family and I didn't care if others thought so too, they were wrong. When I finally came up for air Elizabeth Rose said, she is your daughter.
We knew it from the second we glanced at her photo. We knew it as we dragged her medical files to cardiologist after cardiologist. We knew it. Parents just know these things.
Don't be put off by the title, Special Needs. The only special need is the need for love, the need for a family. It still makes my toes curl to think that the CCAA, as it was, thought Rosie was unadoptable in their regular program. She's perfect. How could she not be adoptable?

OMG Dawn...she was so little. Absolutely adorable. I agree 100% with you on the meaning of special needs.
So perfectly said Dawn...what special needs really is. And Lily is just precious here.
Have a great weekend!
Adorable! Love what you said about the special need being love! John Mark is labeled as a special needs child, I know he just needs a family!
