So why did we go to such a skanky place you ask? Because they have go-karts and crazy golf and water boats and so on all in one place. And a little madness and hyperactivity is just what Lilipop needed today.
You would never know by this calm exterior just how competitive this child of ours is!
Ready to race
Maniacal MotherCool and collective Daddio
I have no idea what is with my expression here
Racing fool
A break from the heat whilst playing golf
dittoAwwww,
He looks so professional. Perhaps he thought it was real golf!
Jacob and Rosie went on the squirty boats
They got soaked, SOAKED, I tell ya'Then the girls went on the big swings. I was worried Rosie would panic...HAH
Weeeeethat was fun
Whoa kidlet that is high
Once we left Skankville we headed to Lily's favourite restaurant for dinner and then Jacob went the opposite way from the house and Lily kept telling him he was going the wrong way. Once we pulled into a parking lot she was still asking where we were going. Jacob told her he needed her to go with him and took her into the Cheesec*ke Factory to buy her her favourite dessert.
That just about ended the day. Oh lets not forget the final phone call, after dinne,r from the school board reminding us about next weeks testing!
I gave her a full massage after her bath and then once it was time for bed I laid down with her until she fell asleep, something I never do.
Her brain is ready and so is she. I just want tomorrow over so that she will see for herself that this flipping test is not the be all and end all of the world. Kids should not be put under this amount of pressure. Oh and I called my friend Hollis tonight to see how her kids were doing and they were fine. Their school board hasn't been putting on the screws!
Sweet girl, you have no idea how ready you are for the next 4 days of testing. It will be easy for you and even if you failed it as long as you have done your best we won't mind at all. Love you, Lilipop.
( a quick note to my new follower Luciana,. Lily's favourite restaurant: Nunzio's! I came home checked email, saw your comment and just laughed. What a coincidence. I don't think you have a blog but if you are starting an adoption journey you HAVE to have one cos I want to follow your story. LOL)

Yeeeaah! How cool. Great way to pre-celebrate with yummy food and yummy treats! :) - and skanky rides - lol- Boomers was skanky last time I went years ago, so I can just imagine now. But all in all super fun.
I hate the stress of FCAT too. My husband is a teacher and refused to teach 3rd grade back home because of it. So much pressure. He'd hate to see his kiddos under that stress.
Ok, I have started a blog (only 2 entries so far. I'm practicing.) I'm sooo not a writer and am super shy... BUT I want to document our adventure here in the UAE and Mila's childhood. And, ultimately, our adoption adventure. I am going to a 'newcomer' meeting in Dubai this week to get info from other moms on how to do this from here. We're thinking Ethiopia. I'll keep you posted.
Let me know how it goes for Lily.
xo
Not sure what the FCAT is but I assume it is a huge testing to find out the education levels of each kiddie. U are such a good mommy to realize how much stress your Lily has and has put upon herself and to help alleviate it. I know Lily will do great!!
Keep smilin!
The FCAT is ridiculous and completely pointless! Schools do nothing but teach to the test now, instead of giving teachers flexibility and creativity in how they teach. I went to private school in Miami, so we did not have to take the FCAT, and for that I am thankful.
Best of luck to your daughter. She sounds very prepared so I'm sure she will be successful.
