Some Friendships Cannot Be Put Into Words.

The families that we met on our adoption journey to Lily and traveled to China with, have a special place in our hearts. There were 12 families on that journey and for the most part we are still all in contact. There are a couple of rebels who want nothing to do with our little group but the bond between the rest of us stays strong.

One of the families was heading out of the Port of Miami on a cruise so without a moments hesitation they called and said, "Hey, lets have dinner." So we did. Jacob picked them up at the airport and we all managed an hour of catching up at the house before we headed to the only decent authentic Chinese restaurant in this town, with another member of our travel group, Chicken Feet. Chicken Feet is Chinese and travelled to China with us and became "Auntie Kathy to all the little ones and nearly all of the families still call her Auntie Kathy. My girls call her Goo Goo, an honor bestowed on them by her and Jacob and I, well we call her Chicken Feet or C.F for short and she call us that too. A term of endearment. Jeff has managed to wangle his way into calling her C.F. also. LOL

Such a wonderful evening and such a shame that is all the time we had. We are going to rendezvous in Chicago next before our big trip in 2013 to retrace our Chinese travels with the whole group. That will be fantastic. It seems like quite a few families are going. I hate to wish my life away but I cannot wait for June/July of 2013.

If you present a child with a napkin folded like this what do you expect?

Just like old times...minus many more.

What a wonderful evening! There really is no bond like the one that you create with your extended China travel family.
