We rode all the way to Government Centre and then just because I am completely insane we switched onto the Metro Mover and headed into Downtown for lunch and a walk. It was sweltering and filled with cars and people but they couldn't have cared less. Miami is no different than any other big city and offers a feast of different kinds of people for one to see. Lily is very aware of her surroundings and fired questions at me in rapid succession regarding all that she saw.
After lunch we headed back to the trains and made our way home. Once in the station the 2 little pro's led the way. They really made me laugh with their knowledge of where to go and what to do. Rosie was adamant that Lily stay far, far back from the platform. The trains were busier as we headed home so we had to share a seat and they regaled me with songs and questions. It made the time go by much faster and I didn't spend quite so much time worrying about which passenger was going to try and jump me!

So happy to be on the train
This afternoon SF Parenting Magasine hosted it's annual "Back to School" event. I have no clue why they call to back to school because it has nothing to do with school at all but it is always lots of fun with lots of things for the girls to do.
They made princess crowns
They got their hot, sweaty little faces paintedboth girls did this but Rosie was not going to until Lily did it.
They got to ride in these really fun little paddle boats which lily declared to be lame but Rosie absolutely loved
All in all it was a fabulous afternoon. Vitamin Water was handing out free samples every where you looked which was handy as it was over 95 degrees today and the sun was blazing down. The girls didn't seem to notice but wimpy here did. Once I finally convinced them we ought to head home we had only been in the car about five minutes when we hit this............
It rained for hours and hours but we didn't mind we had fun.

I have been on those trains and I know what you mean! And I don't miss that rain. Glad you made it to the car safe and dry!
As a kid I used to love riding trains & such. As an adult I absolutely abhore monorails. When we use them, I sit there in utter terror as Erin looks around with glee on her face. And, yes, they're totally yucky.
When I was a little kid living in Miami, my dad had to take the Metrorail to work for about a year. Blah!
