All Good News

Today was Rosie's big cardiac appointment at Miami Childrens Hospital. We spent 6 hours there and it was worth every minute to hear the chief of cardiology tell us that Rose has a mild to moderate case of PDA and nothing else. Her sternum issue is a non issue as far as he is concerned and even though our pediatrician wants us to get x-rays he says not to bother since it is obviously very mild and he will be doing xrays on Rose in 6 months time and he will see for himself them. This is fine by us.

He wanted to do the surgery for PDA immediately and called in the surgeon to join us. After an examination the surgeon decided that since this is a mild case he would rather wait until Rose has gained some more weight. When he first looked at her he said he would rather wait until she was 12 months but then we all laughed and said she is already 13 months that was when he decided she needed to be a little bit bigger. We will return in 6 months to see them and have her procedure done then. The good news here is that Rose is a perfect candidate for a non-surgical procedure to close her blood vessel. They will insert a catheter into her leg wind it up to her heart where they will "clog" the artery and she will be fixed. Fixed, perfect, done forever I tell ya!

Rose has no restrictions at all and is perfectly healthy. We are elated.

Having fun in the waiting room.

Still Having Fun.

Is this the sweetest little hospital gown ever?

Love the photos, glad Rosie was so cheerful, shame the same can't be said for Daddy! I bet that changed once he heard the Drs verdict. Great news.

Awesome news! I told you that little girl was simply perfect. I am so happy to hear that Rosie has a clean bill of health - is that not the best news to hear.

Congratulations to you all. It won't be long before Rose is ready for her catheter, just a few more snacks on the potted plants...
Big hugs, Kim

What wonderful news. I hope and pray that is the news we here someday! She is just too cute. I sure hope there is some cuteness left in China for us. :-)

That is awesome. What is PDA? I know about a lot of different heart conditions but not familiar with that.

And that is great that they can fix it through a cath. That's so much easier than having to physically operate.
