Zai Jian

In the summer of 2005 we moved into warped speed with regard to getting our second adoption underway. We weren't concerned about the fact that Lily was getting bigger cos the wait times were down to 6 months so we thought (ha ha didn't we all) that she would be 4 when we introduced her baby sister to her. Well we all know that life happens when you make other plans and here we are nearly 3 years later finally going to get our baby girl.

This is it! This time tomorrow we will be a few hours into that long journey. We have to leave the house at some awfully dark hour and if all goes to plan we will be in Chicago on time and then on our way to Shanghai. We spend the night in Shanghai and then fly to Beijing the following morning. My cousin Andie is meeting us at Beijing airport. Our flights arrive within 5 minutes of each other, very cool. We will spend from the 15th to the morning of the 19th in Beijing and then we fly that afternoon to Guangzhou and receive Miss Rose in our arms on the 20th.

Lily woke up this morning and announced in a very loud voice,"tomorrow, we leave tomorrow." I can't imagine she will sleep much tonight but that is Ok cos mama has some magic potion for her on the plane! Add to that excitement that her Goo Goo has arrived. She is staying here while we are gone and Lily loves her to bits.

This is our last post before we get to China. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to actually be able to write those words.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support and to our friend Hollis who Skyped us this morning, I am so sorry I couldn't talk but I was just going "ape". Also Hollis, thank you for the reassuring words that we had on Sunday.....you know how much it helped us .
