A Christmas Kiss

Today we finished off our Christmas shopping. Lily and I went out early this evening and managed to get everything else we needed. As we were standing in line at a register in Crate and Barre*l she spotted some mistletoe and ask me this: "Mummy, why do people kiss under the bristletoe?" I found it so hard not to laugh. The man in front of me cracked up. I decided that since there are so few Lilyisms left that I am not touching this one. I have corrected her a few times but it isn't sinking in so from now on Bristletoe it is. Something about the thought of bristley toes makes me want to gag rather than pucker up but oh well.

Hope your day was merry and bright.

Our baby girl is going to spend Christmas in the orphanage all alone with no Father Christmas to spread the Christmas cheer. This one is killing me. We bought her some gifts today and plan on sending them to her. But it hurts all the way into the middle of my heart.

Soon you will bring your sweet girl home. Till then take tons of pics, put them in a photo album & send them to her so she can recognize you on Gotcha Day. When she sees the smiling mum, dad & big sister who are waiting for her, her soul will know yours.

Bristletoe, huh? Is that like when Erin says "orclox" for Clorox? ;-)

Oh, I just cannot imagine. I am sorry that your arms are aching for her. Hopefully your TA will come quickly. It has come pretty fast for some families. I can't wait for you to post a photo, I'll have to do a post and a baby shower!

Just think, she does not know what she is missing yet. But what awaits her....you will get to see smiles and joy and laughter. And hugs and kisses and "I love you Mama". And sisterhood with Lily. And all the great mischief they will get into together. And every holiday to come as a family. Think about those things instead!

I hear ya sista!! It is so tough once you know who your baby is. I found it much harder to wait for Ethan holding his pic for 10 months than waiting for Katie's referral tome. That is unless you count that nasty DHL losing her referral..LOL. Anywho...I digress...enjoy this last Christmas with Lily and Jacob as a family of three with no distractions. Life is about to change and this is a good time to savor the moment.

Love ya,
me
