Pumpkins Galore

I really love this time of year. I love the colours involved, the smells involved and anywhere else in the world I would love the temperature changes involved. We decorated our house for Halloween last weekend and as soon as Halloween is gone I will decorate for Autumn.

Today we took advantage of a sun-less day and ventured off to the pumpkin patch and met our friends Ed, Jenny and Ebby there. What a difference a year makes, this time last year Lily was calling them pumpinks but this year they are pumpkins.....it is sad I miss her Lilyisms so much. I have always said I wanted girls, no boys but let me tell you Ebby has really won me over in the boy department cos he is just so sweet natured, and caring and so funny and as smart as can be. I love this little guy to bits.

Ebby made this scarecrow in his pre school class.

I think this one is big enough. She didn't pee her pants, the pumpkin was all wet and when she picked it up it ran down her legs.

Why do kids have to have the BIGGEST ones?

Thank you for all of your comments from the last post. Lily is one of the most popular kids in her class I think the kids that drive her batty are the ones that have not met her before. She knows how to handle herself and we have given her plenty of ammuntion to use, not nasty stuff. She knows her story and tells only who she wants to. I just know that oneday someone is going to say something a little off colour to her and that is going to break my heart into. Lily will have the answer ready and she will stand up for herself but I will need a lot of chocolate on that occasion.

Hi Dawn,
I've posted here a few times and really enjoy what you share about your Lily. We adopted our little girl from China in 2005. We are older parents, having raised two wonderful sons and now have completed our family with our sweet daughter!!

Lily seems to be such a sweet, genuine, little girl! I look so forward to "seeing her grow".

Thanks for sharing and sorry for the novel that I just wrote! :)

Hey Dawn! Love all of the pictures of the pumpinks -oops, I mean pumpkins...I know I will also miss my Lilyisms when they are gone. Your Lily DOES look so mature (and BEAUTIFUL) in all of those pics. Glad you had such a good time on your sunless (even if not cool) autumn day.
Take care!

P.S. Yes, Ebby seems to be pretty OK (for a boy) hehe
