Blech

We spent a fabulous time today in the car with Auntie Sally and Grandpa. We were heading for the Roald Dahl Museum but my sister, who has a Sat Nav decided she didn't need to use it, alrighty then.

After about 2 hours we found it. Lily is a huge Roald Dahl fan and couldn't wait to go. Sadly it didn't live up to all the hype but we had a great time anyway. It's not often we all get together so any time with each other is lovely.

By the time we got there it was lunch time so we headed straight for the Twit Cafe. Lily is drinking Fizzlecrumper.
Grandpa. It's so funny he never looks happy in photos but he is a really happy fun person
Inside the museum
Rosie acquired a new friend
Roald Dahls actual writing den
Lily sitting in the chair
I saw this as we walked through the town and loved it.

I am grudgingly about to turn the computer off so that I can pack it in my hand luggage and put it by the front door ready for an early departure in the morning. BLECH.

We have had a really wonderful time. We stayed with my sis and BIL for the first time. It was fun.
The kids are still running around and don't want to go to bed because they want to spend every last second with their Crazy Auntie Sally and Mad Uncle Andy. I can't blame them at all. I knew this was a short trip but it seems to have flown by.

Awww, gotta go and unplug myself. Sigh

I'm being judgemental again

Just down the street from my sisters house is a rather large home with big wrought iron gates with dreadfully pretentious gold horse heads slapped in the middle of them. Way, way beyond their house and garden is a paddock and in this paddock is a pretend horse that is life sized and saddled up. Seriously WTF? My sister had told us about it and I wanted to see it for myself so we took a quick drive down the road and to the top of the hill where I could clearly see this "thing". Now I am going to MAKE her go and knock on their door and see what the hell they are thinking. Damn she just said she won't go to a strangers door as they might have a dog. If they do it's probably stuffed too, silly girl!

There doesn't appear to be any "real" horses anywhere on the property.

Just the boys

Sally and Andy came over here to stay with us with a very tiny wish list of things they wanted to do and see. One thing that Andy had on his wish list was to go to the Everglades and see some alligators. Sally had NO interest in this whatsoever. Today my sis' and I had a fabulous day shopping and the men went off in search of gators.
In all fairness Jacob should be writing this post as I wasn't even there but he is asleep with Andy sitting right next to him, also asleep. Sad, sad boys! So it is up to me to post these photos and make up a story to go along with them.

Since Hubby is a native Miamian he doesn't take people to the usual Airboat Tours he knows of a really good one sort of hidden away. It never disappoints and you see alot me wildlife that with the Swamp tours.

One cool dude
A Florida Croc...not a gator
Fugly looking bird.

Da boyz on da boat
He's probably telling them to Stop and get off so they wouldn't get eaten alive!
Ewww, that's just nasty.

So why they were out in the wilderness getting sweaty and smelly and chasing gators sally and I went to Pand0ra and did a spot of shoppy.
This is my latest edition. A gift from my sister.

And I bought for her the one that says sisters BUT, horror of all horrors, the website will not allow me to snag the photo. You will just have to believe me that it is so gorgeous and a perfect gift for her.

4 F's

Friends, family, fun and food.

When Hollis found out that my sister and Andy were coming for a visit she immediately said she wanted to see them again. Today was that day. It was really nice being able to take Sally and Andy to her house since the last time they saw each other, well the first time they saw each other, was at my Fathers house this summer, in England.

Even Hollis' 3 girls agree that she really is Crazy Auntie Sally.

Unfortunately Sally was up most of the night with a migraine so the crazy was a little subdued today. Shortly before we left she started to feel like herself, thank goodness.

I think I have mentioned before that Grace loves to cook!A Wii bit of fun
Trevi thinks colouring is much more fun than Wii
Fun
Trevi took Rosie outside to show her how to scooter. Trevi is really good
Rosie, not so much.

Being able to share my family with our best friends is truly fantastic. Hollis is like family to us so really it was just an extension!

Apparently the Uncle is crazy too

I decided yesterday that we were going to have to stay home today if there is any chance of Rosie recovering from this foolish, cause unknown, fever. Sally and Andy headed out for some sightseeing and I stayed home with girls.

Sally and Andy were home before dinner and then afterwards some silliness ensued. Andy spends a lot of time when he is at work sitting all by himself getting very bored, so for reasons that many of us will never understand he taught himself to play the harmonica. He's actually quite good and it is always worthy of a good gigglefest when he starts up.

I keep the "musical" instruments on a high shelf but sadly they are no longer out of Lily's reach.

My plan paid off and Rosie was fever free all day today so tomorrow we are free to let loose.

Crazy auntie sally

Yesterday was the day that Crazy Auntie Sally arrived along with Uncle Andy. They were listed on the first flight out of Heathrow airport yesterday morning but they got bumped. American has reconfigured it's flights out of London at the moment and they no longer fly just one triple 7 but instead 3 767's. They don't have first class on them so they were listed Business, these planes are a lot smaller so we knew things would be iffy for the first flight.. Once we woke up Jacob checked via his work computer and said "oops, not on yet". Thankfully we told the kids she was coming today.

Once Jacob saw they had seat assignments we told the girls and things went a little nutty from that point on. I kept them busy all day and once I got the email from the airlines stating that their flight had landed we headed to the airport.

Daddy snuck downstairs to say hi
Waiting for them to clear customs
This was how Rosie looked.....and she has the nerve to call my sister crazy!

Finally we spotted them and the kids flew into Sally's arms.

They were pretty quick, all things considered, coming through customs and immigration because, it turned out they had no luggage. It's lost. We trekked here and there, lost Andy and Lily, found Andy and Lily but still no luggage. Jacob went and checked last night before he left work at midnight and still no luggage or no clue where it might be. NICE.

Sally and I are the same size so that's fine. Andy, well he's not Jacobs size so he is looking a little off in our house this morning in his best clothes.

Hopefully AA can get their act together today and find some luggage. Rosie is very concerned that her Jelly is lost. I'd rather like my chocolate too.
